Ohio OLTAPAC Stadium Tour
Ever wanted to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Ohio Stadium?
OLTA will host an OLTAPAC tour prior to the kickoff of Convention. March down the same tunnel as the OSU Marching Band, walk through the press box and learn the history of this landmark that opened in 1922. Suggested donation to OLTAPAC for this exclusive is $100.

Opening Reception at the Jack Nicklaus Museum
The OLTA Annual Convention opening evening reception will be held at the Jack Nicklaus Museum on the campus of the Ohio State University. At this 12,000 square-foot educational and historical facility, you will encounter the history of golf and its greatest practitioner…take an immersive journey through Jack's brilliant career including trophies, photographs and various mementos from his unparalleled 18 major championships and 100 worldwide professional victories. Join your industry colleagues for drinks and appetizers and discover the many facets of this remarkable man who added so much to the history of golf. Shuttles will run continuously from our host hotel, the Marriott Columbus Campus Area, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

During this session, Tim discusses the impact of negative attitudes, mindsets, and beliefs on an organization’s performance, growth, and ultimate success. Every organization has individuals and even entire departments who, from time to time, behave in a negative way. Unfortunately, this behavior can be contagious, affecting other employees, customers, and the reputation of the organization in the marketplace. Tim shares several proven and time-tested approaches to changing these attitudes from half-empty to half-full.

We have all seen the headlines declaring blockchain technology as the next big thing. This session will provide a high-level description of the transformative technology, how it works, its strengths and weaknesses, and its applicability to real estate transactions and the land title industry.

Cyber fraud has been the “hot-button” topic recently, addressed by underwriters, lecturers, and continuing education courses. However, there are still other types of fraud which nonetheless victimize title agents, consumers and insurers. The panel, via case studies and other examples, will focus on impersonation, misrepresentation, and misappropriation of funds that have impacted real estate transactions throughout the country. In addition, the panel will provide tricks of the trade to assist in avoiding significant monetary and reputation losses that can occur when parties and non-parties engage in fraud.

Hear from OLTA’s lobbying team and executive director about the status of bills from the current Ohio General Assembly which will have an effect on the title industry, including abolition of dower and electronic notarization. Ohio Title Insurance Agent Ethics

This course will explore the principles of ethics as applied to the real estate market. We will review federal and state laws as well as industry practices and best practices for your organization. We will also review the effects of unethical behavior and the red flags to watch out for. Finally, we will discuss case studies and how to build an ethical organization.

State of the Industry Update – A CFPB and TRID Update
Leslie Wyatt, SoftPro
Leslie Wyatt will provide a state update on the status of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, its enforcement actions and current interpretations. She'll also discuss the future of Dodd Frank reform and repeal, the future of BCFP and the impact of the new administration. In addition, she will talk about the TRID Improvement Act.
- We have applied for 8.0 general CLE credit hours from the Supreme Court of Ohio.
- We have applied for 8.0 CLE credit hours from the Kentucky Bar Association.
- We have applied for 7.0 title CIE and 1.0 ethics CIE credit hour. The course level is intermediate.

To receive continuing insurance education (CIE) credit, you must do the following for each session (an exam is not required to receive credit)
- Sign the attendance roster before the session;
- Attend the session in its entirety;
- Complete & sign the request for CIE credits; and Sign the attendance roster before the session;

Partial CIE credit can be given to attendees of this seminar. The credit must be rounded down to half hour increments.

Requirements for Continuing Legal Education credit have not changed. You are still required to provide your Attorney Registration Number to receive credit.
